Terry Vanden Hoek’ Resseach Lab

Reseach Areas:

Our research addresses mechanisms of injury and protection during emergency cardiovascular care.  Based upon ongoing research, we seek to develop novel resuscitation therapies for major cardiovascular diseases of global ischemia/reperfusion including cardiac arrest and hemorrhagic shock.  Insights into how cooling produces profound protection are being used to design new protective drugs that target critical metabolic and thrombo-inflammatory injury pathways.  Our goal is to transform care for diseases of global ischemia/reperfusion by dramatically improving tissue rescue and increasing survival.
