About

Dr. Adhir Shroff is the clinical chief of the Division of Cardiology and director of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab at UI Health. Dr. Shroff is a national leader in radial-artery catheterization, a safer catheterization method he helped pioneer. He also specializes in diagnosing arterial blockages in the heart, and he is an expert in nonsurgical cardiac procedures that avoid open-heart surgery. Dr. Shroff is a core member of the Structural Heart Disease Program at UI Health, and he works with the team to grow referral programs, develop outreach efforts in the community, and expand the types of procedures that are offered at UI Health. Dr. Shroff has trained hundreds of physicians on radial catheterizations, and he chairs a national working group to improve the safety of cardiac catheterization procedures. He also trains physicians on the use of hemodynamic support devices to help patients whose hearts may be too weak to undergo other cardiac procedures, such as angioplasty or catheterization. He is a professor and director of the Interventional Cardiology Fellowship Program in the University of Illinois College of Medicine.
